Red Wings
In October of 2010, I took part in an epic theatrical production that combined music from Japanese video games and anime with live actors and projected animations. I created hundreds of illustrations for the show, including a number of background landscapes and action shots.
All the artwork was hand done with pen and gouache and scanned in, edited, and pieced together into animation sequences.
This is a snapshot of a scene from Red Wings which was a flashback segment, detailing the background of one of the main characters.

Psycho Fruit Series
I admit, this is a high school project, but it was a lot of fun to make, and was a great exploration exercise for me back when I was still learning about art and art history.
So saying, this series had 16 pieces that surrounded the theme of "fruits with disorders." A quick website a put together showcases all 16 pieces.
This was one of my favorites, a Banana Throwing Itself Down the Stairs, a pun/homage to Marcel Ducchamp's piece "Nude decending a staircase."

I believe the image of Baba Yaga's hut (the one that rested upon chicken legs) really struck and amused me, and I believe was the impetus for starting this project in the first place.

Cinderella Series
Three cultural pespectives
I created illustrations for the Cinderella story, as told from German, Italian and Russian story traditions. Above is an illustration from the Russian version, which is called "Vasilisa the Beautiful." I utilized different architectural "frames" to distinguish each series, intending to mimic a form that was most indicadive of each culture. I think the onion dome came across as the most obvious formation in the end.

Seven Wonders of the Ancient World - Hanging Gardens
So, I only made 3 of them. The idea was to make a series of tourist-y postcards for these long-gone attractions of the ancient world. These were some early samples of hand painting type, for better or for worse.
